Abelardo Morrell
what i think about Abelardo Morrell's work is that it is a bit cool but it is not perfect and there are better artists/photographers than him they consist of pictures of buildings/cities/forests. what i like about it is that he does them upside down

The Pinhole Camera
My first impression of Justin Quinnell is that the images are so unique and some of the images can make me feel a bit uncomfortable, because I can see the inside of the mouth but I chose the less distressing images and its really epic. these images are so powerful because there is a photo that is unusual but the reason for that is because it is distorted
How to make a pinhole camera
|
1. I got a coffee can and cut a square hole in it.
2. I took a square piece of Coke can and taped it to the inside covering the hole. 3. I taped around the outside of the square hole to make sure that there is no light coming in. 4. I made a flap of tape to act as a shutter. 5. I used a pin to make a tiny hole in the Coke can piece to let only a tiny amount of light in. 6. I taped up the lid to stop the light leaking in. 7. I painted the inside of the tin matte black |
Evaluation of my Pinhole Camera
My pinhole camera was made from a coffee tin, and worked very well. The shutter was a bit difficult to use, but it didn’t let any light in unless I opened it. Putting the paper in the camera was awkward, because I had to stick the paper in to stop it moving, and to keep it flat. The first attempt was properly exposed at 7 seconds, but the second one was over-exposed by about 2 seconds. When developing, I put my paper in the developer, stop and fix for 30 seconds each.
Vjeko Sager - Antimatter - Analysis
My first impression of this photogrqph is of fishes in the ocean, diving down but I think it is just a coincidence. it is very simple and plain but precise at the same time. There are three cut areas that are very neat and accurately done. The style is minimalist which means the artist uses very few cuts to produce powerful images. It reminds me of origami because of the shapes although they were made by a knife instead of folding. It's also like dissecting a chicken in a science lesson.

Experimentation
First of all, I think my photographs look epic - the paper looks like stone: solid, heavy and dense.
I felt creative when I was cutting the paper and working out how to angle the light to get the strongest shadows. I think my images are effective, because they look similar to Vjeko Sager's, but are even more 3D. This is because the shadows are powerful and more defined.

Francis Bruguiere
Francis Brugiere was interested in painting, poetry, music, etc. when he returned from Europe which he studied painting in he met Alfred at the 291 gallery and was interested in photography. then in 1912 he made multiple exposures and made a series of cut paper abstractions

Experimentation
Evaluation
i have taken photographs of scrunched up paper and edited them in Photoshop and adjusted the brightness and contrast then converted them into black and white |
Experimentation - evaluation
The one I liked the most was the the bottom right because the two colours complement each other it and it lifts my mood. It reminds me of oceans and tunnels underwater and ink exploding. It was made by crunching paper and using torch, boosting the brightness and contrast in photoshop and printing in different colours.

Painting with Light - Group Experiments
Evaluation
We were in a group of three and did light painting and we made some great photos. The camera was set to manual focus, ISO 100, F8 and 8 seconds exposure, which was increased to 15 when we used the light box and torch. we started off using a torch from a phone or any torch in general and started with shapes to initials then we used the light box and took pictures of it first then we used the torch with it too with the torch in circles and the light box around the person and they are good
Sculpture using found photograms
Evaluation
I took pictures of sculptures and did it in different angles and then i used the zooming feature and I am proud of what I did
Light as a Subject
Roy DeCarava
My response to Roy DeCarava's photographs
My response
I responded to Roy DeCrava's images by repeatedly taking pictures of a person wearing a hijab, In black & white. I am going to make a short film in black & white with lots of contrast I will achieve it with the use of the studio lights I used a digital camera and studio lights
Anthotype
anthotype is basically where you put objects on the paper and expose it to natural light
